Hull gains promotion to Premier League (AP)

Hull earned promotion to England’s top soccer league for the first time in its 104-history, beating Bristol City 1-0 Saturday in the League Championship playoff final. Dean Windass scored for his hometown club on a spectacular volley in the 38th minute. The victory will be worth as much as $119 million to the team in television money, sponsorship and other revenue.
